Janet Cohn, DVM, ABVP Feline

Board-Certified in Feline Medicine with over 20 years experience as a cat specialist

Dr. Janet Cohn has wanted to be a veterinarian since she was a child, doctoring to all the injured critters in the neighborhood, and caring for a wide variety of pets from goldfish to a dog. She never parented a cat until she was in graduate school when she adopted Sampson, a long-haired orange tabby from a humane society in Boston. Sampson completely converted Dr. Cohn into a cat fanatic, and to this day she has a deep fondness for orange tabby males.

Dr. Cohn obtained her undergraduate degree in Biology from Cornell University, a Masters degree in Biology from MIT, and her DVM degree in 1994 from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. In January of 2000, she became board-certified in feline medicine by the American Board of Feline Practitioners, emphasizing her knowledge of and interest in cats.

After over 20 years as an associate in feline practice, Dr. Cohn was inspired to open Purrfect Care Feline Medical Center to allow her to express her ideas and personality, to meet the new challenges of being a practice owner, and to fulfill a niche for top quality feline medical care with a softer touch. Our staff and facilities are dedicated to providing the ultimate in cat care and comfort.
